Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy can be useful for people of all ages with a wide range of health conditions.

Physiotherapy is considered useful because it considers the body as a whole, rather than just focusing on the individual aspects of an injury or illness.

Angela’s individual and holistic approach makes the treatment suitable for all ages and a wide range of complaints.

Angela has specialised in the musculo-skeletal field of physiotherapy for over 20 years. Some of this was spent working full time at the English Institute of Sports in Sheffield, where she worked with olympic athletes. Through her extensive professional and personal experience she has a very unique and holistic way of working with clients.

Angela has the knowledge, skills and expertise to comfortably rehabilitate a client with acute pain and injury. Yet, along with her expert ‘hands on’ skills, she frequently shares relaxation and mindfulness practices with those suffering from longer term conditions or chronic pain.  She works towards empowering the client with techniques that they can use themselves, reducing the likelihood of the client feeling solely reliant upon a heath care professional for relief.

As Angela holds weekly classes, she can also provide guidance with movement and activity programmes.

Why it is useful

Hopefully you will experience a ‘sense of ease!’

For some, the hands on therapy is all that they want, and that is OK. Solely using manual therapy is very effective in aiding the recovery from an injury or pain, especially if the symptoms are new or in the early stages of onset.

However, for those of us who suffer from more chronic, reoccurring pain and discomfort. Manual therapy works best if  used in conjunction with a self management programme. This may not necessarily be the quick fix that you may be hoping for but it is certainly the most effective path in reducing longer term suffering.

Each person that Angela treats is an individual with their own unique nature and needs. They all have their own personal, medical and social history, life experiences, conditioning and perceptions of the world, all of which have an affect on a person’s health and wellbeing.

Angela aspires to meet the unique needs and wants of each client, meaning that she works in a way that is respectful and considerate of each particular client.
